Funeral services held for first Black woman Memphis police officer

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Funeral services were held Friday for the first Black woman to serve as a Memphis Police Officer.
Captain Claudine Penn passed away last week at the age of 90. Her homegoing services were held at Bloomfield Full Gospel Baptist Church on South Parkway.
The church’s pastor highlighted the historical significance of Captain Penn’s life.
