MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Two people were detained after Memphis police said a car stolen early Dec. 7 was used in two armed robberies and a pursuit that ended when officers stopped the vehicle.

The owner reported his Chrysler 300 stolen on Dec. 7 just before 5 a.m. after he said he started the car to warm it up outside the Sleep Inn motel near the intersection of Perkins Rd and American Way. He told police suspects in either a Nissan Altima or Maxima parked next to his vehicle, broke into it and drove off.

Shortly before 2 a.m. Monday, officers responded to an armed robbery at the Gold Club near N White Station Road and Summer Avenue. Police said suspects in a Chrysler 300 approached a man at gunpoint, took his wallet and demanded more money.

Police said the same stolen Chrysler 300 was involved in a second robbery a short distance away at Tequila Town restaurant.

About 3:45 a.m., officers spotted the stolen Chrysler near the intersection of Central Avenue and Glenn Rogers Sr. Street and pursued it until it stopped near Chelsea Avenue and Wells Station Road. The suspects exited the vehicle and ran; officers detained two people.
