Paramedic gets hair pulled out by attacker when trying to provide aid

CLEVELAND (WOIO/Gray News) – A woman paramedic was attacked and her hair pulled out while providing aid to a patient Friday night.

Officials said the assault happened in Cleveland at the intersection of East 105th Street and Superior Avenue.

The Cleveland Association of Rescue Employees (CARE) said the attack is an unfortunate reality that first responders risk facing on a regular basis while they try to do their jobs.

According to CARE, the employee attacked was left with a physical deformity.

CARE said it strongly condemns this senseless act of violence and is calling on law enforcement to hold the perpetrator accountable.
