Major media outlets team up with Mid-South Food Bank for first ‘Day of Giving’
The Mid-South Food Bank is teaming up with Memphis’ major media outlets to give back.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - In an event that’s never happened here before, the Mid-South Food Bank is teaming up with Memphis’ major media outlets to give back to the community through “A Day of Giving,” a joint food drive.
The major media outlets will be out from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday collecting goods.
Here’s where you’ll want to go to participate:
You’ll be looking for the Tesla charging stations right behind Another Broken Egg Cafe, near the back of the Poplar Plaza parking lot.
This is where you’ll drive through and drop off non-perishable food, like canned goods, mac and cheese or peanut butter, or other items like paper towels, utensils and toiletries.
If you’re afraid you won’t be able to spot it, don’t worry. Action News 5 and other media outlets will be there with tents and teams coming to celebrate this joint partnership.
If you’re not able to make it in time, you can still donate using the QR card below.

The food bank says every $10 provides 30 meals, so anything you can give is meaningful.
