MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) -It’s crunch time for high school football teams across the Mid-South. The playoffs are right around the corner, and every week gets more and more important.
Our Friday Football Fever Game of the Week was a perfect example of that. After losing their region opener to Hernando last Friday, Horn Lake needed a victory over another league opponent in Desoto Central to get back on track.
The Eagles did exactly that, blowing the game open in the third quarter to score the 35-20 home victory, a key result for their playoff hopes.
Other games featured in week 9 include:
- Germantown defeating White Station 22-12
- MUS prevailing in a non-league matchup against Central 49-34
- Christian Brothers falling in a close battle at home to Lipscomb 27-24
- Southaven dominating Lewisburg 31-7
- Northpoint scoring a 27-21 victory over ECS
