HORN LAKE, Miss. (WMC) - Horn Lake police say a Walmart employee is not facing charges after stabbing someone inside the store Sunday evening.

The incident happened just after 10:30 p.m. at Walmart Supercenter on Goodman Road.

When officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as 27-year-old Ledarius Clayton, with a stab wound inside the store.

Clayton was rushed to a nearby hospital and was later pronounced dead.

Horn Lake police say Clayton appeared to target the employee, who fought back.

Police say surveillance footage shows Clayton enter the store and directly approach the employee

Police have not charged the employee at this time, but their investigation will be submitted to the DeSoto County District Attorney’s Office to determine if the act was justified in self-defense.

Walmart says it is cooperating with police during the investigation and that the store re-opened at 10 a.m. Monday.
