Text messages shed new details on the disappearance of Huntsville realtor Ronald Dumas Jr.
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - New details in the case of missing Huntsville realtor Ronald Dumas Jr. came out in court on Friday.
One of the suspects in the case, Kierra Clark, had an Aniah’s Law hearing. She’s charged with kidnapping in connection with the case.
Dumas Jr., a father of three, was last seen in Huntsville on December 15, 2024.
During Friday’s hearing, it came out that Clark was not in Huntsville at the time of the kidnapping, but she allegedly directed another suspect, Quintarius White, on how to take advantage of Dumas Jr.
According to Friday’s testimony, Clark was texting White while he was in Huntsville, and she was giving him instructions on how to take advantage of and rob Dumas Jr.
An investigator testified that there are messages between White and Clark, saying that they are bringing Dumas Jr. back to Memphis, and to make sure that Dumas Jr. doesn’t have his phone on him because his location may be on.
Clark is the first of the five suspects to have a court hearing in Huntsville. White is still in custody in Tennessee, while three other suspects - Toure McLaurin, Sabrina Chambers, and Carissa Cash - are still on the run.
During testimony we learned that the suspects may be connected through a prostitution ring and that Dumas may have hired suspects on the night of his kidnapping.
“Hopefully, the rest of the people involved in this case will be in Madison County soon, so we can move forward, but we have her, so we are going to move forward with our case,” said Tim Gann, Chief Deputy District Attorney.
Dumas family was in the courtroom room Friday. They said it was a very emotional day for them.
Shakeria Samples, the mother of Dumas’ child, said she was in complete shock by some of the things brought up during testimony.
“It’s heartbreaking to picture him being hurt and beaten... for money. So we need answers, and we want to know where he is,” said Samples.
The judge denied bond for Clark.
There’s a $7,500 reward offered in the case.
