Shelby County Community Gardens accepting applications for 2025 gardening season

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The Shelby County Community Gardens program is now accepting applications for the 2025 gardening season.

The application deadline is Friday, April 4, and the planting season is expected to begin in mid-April.

The Shelby County Department of Parks and Neighborhoods manages the Community Gardens, which provide roughly 400 plots of varied sizes to meet your gardening needs.

The majority of plots are approximately 25′ x 100′ in size, with few smaller plots of 25′ x 25′ and a few mid-sized ones of 25′ x 50′.

First-time gardeners and those looking to renew their plot can apply for a free garden plot at the Shelby County Community Gardens, located at 6265 Gardener Road, by clicking here.
