Ole Miss students excited men’s basketball team is still dancing
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - For just the second time in program history, the Ole Miss Rebels Men’s Basketball team will play in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
The last time the team made it this far, a lot of the students on campus on Monday probably were not even born yet. The year was 2001, and with a gap that large, the excitement builds.
“I can’t wait man, it is going to be amazing,” Daniel Laubhan said.
Laubhan, like many other students on campus, was excited about basketball but did not think the team could be this good, but now their expectations are through the roof.
“I am going to be honest with you... we had a lot of talent on the team last year that graduated, so I was skeptical,” Laubhan said. “You know, I think when you look at the other teams that we have beaten and the quality of those wins, it goes a long way.”
Ole Miss will play Michigan State in the south regional semifinal on Friday at 6 p.m. CT in Atlanta.
