Priscilla Presley honored with top civilian award in Tenn.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Priscilla Presley was honored at the Tennessee State Capitol on Monday with the state’s highest Tennessee civilian honor, the Colonel, Aide de Camp award.
Presley was honored during House and Senate proceedings during Monday’s sessions.
Her husband Elvis received the same award all the way back in March 1961.
“First place he (Elvis) would come back would be back here...back home he wanted to be,” Prelsey said. “He loved the people, being raised, Graceland. That meant a lot to him. It honors me to be able to respect that and do what I can possibly do to carry on what he believed in as well for what goes on here in Memphis.”
Presley’s award comes due to her support and contribution to the Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum’s vision of relocating from FedExForum to its new home in the Lansky building in the Beale Street Entertainment District.
