Two teens arrested after weeks-long robbery spree, including armed robbery at Taco Nganas

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Two teens are arrested after robbing a combined 13 businesses over two weeks including Taco Nganas.

A 17-year-old is charged with 13 counts of aggravated robbery, attempted robbery, evading arrest on foot, and aggravated assault on first responder.

The other 17-year-old is charged with six counts of aggravated robbery, attempted aggravated robbery, intentionally evading arrest in an automobile, evading arrest on foot, and aggravated arrest on a first responder.

Memphis Police responded to a robbery at Taco Nganas on South Perkins Road on December 14 at 2 p.m.

The two armed teens are accused of entering the truck and demanding money.

Officers responded to another robbery the next day at Sabor Salvadoreno on Summer Avenue.

MPD was told that one armed person demanded money and then ran away.

On December 17, the teens are accused of robbing four businesses on the same day.

Memphis Police responded to a robbery the next day at Taqueria Los Compadres on Winchester.

The suspects are accused of robbing three businesses on December 19.

Officers responded to these robberies:

  • Elizabeth A Taco Stand on Knight Arnold Road 10:45 a.m.
  • Tom’s Barbecue on Getwell Road 11:05 a.m.
  • Auto theft on Club Lane 11:30 p.m.

Memphis Police made the scene of three robberies in two days.

On December 21, the suspects were accused of robbing a food truck called Caceleria Doris Food Truck on Winchester Road.

Two armed teens approached the victims and demanded money, said police.

The next day, officers arrived at a Fruit Stand on Getwell Road.

Officers were told an armed man exited a vehicle, demanded money, and took the victim’s backpack.

While officers were on the scene of the Fruit Stand robbery, they received a call about a second robbery at the Oaxaquena Food Truck on Getwell Road.

When the suspect attempted to break into the truck, the owner fired a shot scaring the suspect.

While officers were on the scene an officer in an unmarked unit spotted the suspect’s vehicle. MPD says the suspect fired at the officer but no one was injured.

Officers initiated a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop causing a pursuit. However, the suspect was able to get away.

On December 30, officers located the two suspects and took them into custody.
