MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A woman is accused of shooting her boyfriend in an apartment complex.

Lashan Johnson is charged with aggravated assault/domestic violence.

On Sunday, just before 9:15 a.m., Memphis Police responded to a shooting at the Summer Trace Apartments on Summer Trace Drive.

A witness called the police because there were two people involved in a disturbance and he heard a gunshot and someone was lying on the ground, according to the affidavit.

Johnson drove her boyfriend to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound that she said was self-inflicted.

The boyfriend was taken to another hospital in critical condition.

Another witness told police that she saw Johnson and her boyfriend were involved in an argument outside of the apartments.

She also said that she saw both of them armed with pistols, according to the affidavit.

Johnson was cursing and attempted to “pistol whip” her boyfriend in his head, according to the affidavit.

According to the affidavit, he tried to restrain Johnson and when he backed up, she raised her pistol and shot him one time in the hip area.

He then said, “B***h, you shot me. I’m going to die.”

Johnson was arrested and identified in a photo as the person responsible for the shooting.

She is being held on a bond of $200,000 and is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
