2 arrested, 2 wanted after robbing medicine delivery driver outside Midtown CVS, police say
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Two men are arrested and two other men are wanted after they robbed a medicine delivery driver outside Midtown CVS, according to Memphis Police Department.
Police were called to the location at 2115 Union Avenue just before 7:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve.
A woman told police she had just parked when she was approached by two men wearing ski masks who pointed a gun at her and demanded her phone.
One of the men grabbed the phone and the other got in her van and drove away.
The van contained a pharmaceutical delivery for CVS.
The van was later recovered in the area of Florence Street and Linden Avenue. The totes containing medicine were missing.
Police later received a tip that one of the suspects was at a home on Nellie Road.
Javorian Miller, 27, was taken into custody and several of the totes were recovered. A second man fled the scene and officers were unable to locate him.
Miller is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, carjacking and employment of a firearm during a dangerous felony.
Police also connected Miller to a robbery at Walgreens on Summer Avenue on November 29.
During the investigation, Miller received information from Wardell Thomas. He was found on Tranquility Drive and police took him into custody.
Thomas, 32, was charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery. His bond was set at $15,000.00, and he is out on bail.
Investigators have also discovered two more suspects in these cases.
Warrants have been issued, and investigators need help in locating these men.
Fredrick Pirtle, 25, has a warrant for aggravated robbery.
Warren McGowan, 29, has a warrant for two counts of aggravated robbery, carjacking, and employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.
