MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A now-former FedEx worker has been charged months after she allegedly stole a package containing more than $12,000 in jewelry from the FedEx World Hub and sold its contents to a local jeweler.

Hannah Davis, 26, is charged with felony property theft.

FedEx confirmed in a statement Friday that she is no longer employed with the company.

The Memphis International Airport Police Department alleges that Davis sold several gold Figaro necklaces and a unique, trademarked diamond pendant to Robert Irwin Jewelers in Memphis on April 26.

One of the employees contacted Quantum Jewelers, the owner of the trademarked jewelry, after becoming suspicious of the sale.

A Quantum Jewelers representative told the salesperson that the jewelry Davis sold to them was en route to be delivered to their business via FedEx.

The contents of the package were valued at $12,317.28.

FedEx’s loss prevention team was notified that the business' missing jewelry was sold in Memphis and an internal investigation was launched.

It was later determined that Davis was seen taking Quantum Jewelers' package after it was scanned into the FedEx World Hub on April 25.

Davis was booked into the Shelby County Jail on Thursday and is currently being held on a $5,000 bond.
