Alleged mastermind in Young Dolph killing set to appear in court
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The man accused of helping plan the murder of Memphis Rapper young Dolph will be back in court Friday morning.
Hernandez Govan has been out on bond for the past year and a half.
He’s facing conspiracy charges in the 2021 murder-for-hire plot.
Govan is set to go to trial in March if he does not accept a plea deal before then.
His alleged role in the plan was shared by Cornelius Smith, one of the men who says he shot and killed Dolph alongside Justin Johnson.
Johnson is serving a life sentence.
During Johnson’s trial, Cornelius Smith testified that Govan told him about a $100,000 hit on Young Dolph put out by Anthony “Big Jook” Mims, deceased brother of Memphis rapper Yo Gotti.
