MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Memphis Police Department has arrested and charged a mother accused of bringing a gun to her child’s school.
On November 7, officers responded to a weapon violation call at Bolton High School on Brunswick Road.
When they arrived, they were informed by an employee that the suspect, Kenya Ramson, 47, had brought a gun onto the school grounds.
According to the affidavit, the metal detectors detected the handgun that was in Ramson’s purse; she insisted that it was an accident and she was there to pick up her son.

Ramson was taken into custody and is now facing charges for carrying a weapon onto school property.
