Police charge 27-year-old who allegedly shot teen girl who borrowed his car to go to store

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A 27-year-old has been arrested after he allegedly shot a teenage girl Wednesday morning after she borrowed his car to go to the store, according to the Memphis Police Department.
Voshaun Crayton is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, and reckless endangerment.
Officers were dispatched to the Hickory Pointe Apartments in the Fox Meadows area at 7:38 a.m. to find two teenage victims, including a 15-year-old with a gunshot wound to her thigh.
The girls both told police that Crayton, who was another friend’s boyfriend, began firing at them after they borrowed his white Ford to take a trip to the store.
At some point during the commute back home, the 27-year-old reportedly began chasing the pair in a separate green vehicle and would eventually block them in the apartment complex’s parking lot.
Crayton allegedly pointed a gun at the girls, saying, “Get out the car before I shoot ya’ll both in the head."
That’s when gunfire rang out, striking one of the teens in the leg.
Clayton allegedly ordered the wounded 15-year-old out of the car at gunpoint and forced her to walk around the complex to help find his phone and his girlfriend, all while continuing to fire shots.
The gunman would reportedly escort the injured girl back to the parking lot and speed off in his white Ford, followed by the green car, which police say was driven by an unknown female.
The victim was sent to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in non-critical condition.
According to the arrest affidavit, Clayton filed a police report that same day to report his car stolen.
