Police officer shoots dog attacking woman

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A Memphis police officer shot a dog that was attacking a woman.

Officers were called to a home on Marion Avenue on Monday evening where a woman was being attacked by a dog.

The officer shot the dog, stopping the attack.

Police did not specify if the dog survived its injuries.

The woman had minor injuries from the attack.

Less than a week ago, a police officer shot and killed a dog on Beatrice Street.

While on the scene, a dog charged at the officer and bit him. That’s when he shot the dog, killing it.
