16-year-old, 13-year-old charged; Accused of bringing weapons to school
SHELBY CO., Tenn. (WMC) - Shelby County Sheriff’s Department arrested two teens accused of bringing weapons to school Friday.
A 16-year-old student at Southwind High School is charged with bringing ammunition and fireworks to school.
A 13-year-old is charged with bringing an airsoft pistol to school.
He/she attends Highland Oaks Middle School.
Both teens were transported to the Youth Justice and Education Center.
Sheriff Bonner sends a message to the parents and the public.
“This type of behavior will not be tolerated, and we are committed to ensuring the safety of our community. I’m asking parents to have an immediate conversation with their children about the seriousness of this foolish behavior.”
