EEOC sues FedEx over mistreatment of disabled workers
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis-based transportation company FedEx is being sued by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
The lawsuit claims that FedEx violated federal law when it failed to provide reasonable accommodations for disabled workers.

According to the EEOC, FedEx has maintained and enforced a 100% healed policy against ramp transport drivers since Nov. 29, 2019--meaning drivers with medical conditions are not provided with accommodations and are instead placed on unpaid medical leave or fired.
EEOC also claims that when the company learned that one of its drivers had medical restrictions, it assigned the driver a 90-day temporary light-duty assignment.
The initial complainant, who filed the charge that initiated EEOC’s investigation, was a ramp transport driver working out of a FedEx facility in Minneapolis.
