MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The heat will make a comeback for the rest of the work week as a warm front lifts north and an upper-level ridge expands eastward. This pattern will allow for elevated moisture levels and rising temperatures into the next few afternoons. An Excessive Heat Warning is in play for much of the Mid-South making today a FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY.

Not only today but THURSDAY AND FRIDAY ARE FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAYS due to the anticipated HOT conditions. Much of the region will experience heat index values, or ‘feels like’ temperatures, cresting near 110°.
