Woman rushed to hospital, later dies after shooting on Hickory Villas Drive, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Memphis Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one woman dead.
Around 10:57 a.m., officers responded to a shooting on Hickory Villas Drive near Mount Moriah Road.
Officers located a female victim who was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
A male has been detained in connection to the shooting.
According to MPD, the suspect was known to the victim.
There is no other suspect information at this time.
