Arrest made after child shot in face

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis police made an arrest after child was injured in an accidental shooting.
The shooting happened just after 5 p.m. Monday on Pawnee Avenue in the Westwood area.
Police say the victim had been shot in the face.
The victim was taken to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in non-critical condition.
Police did not provide an age for the victim.
Police say Bradley Smith told them he thought the safety was on when he pulled the gun out of his hoodie and shot the victim.
Smith, 18, is charged with aggravated assault.
