Teen charged with killing nurse during robbery outside senior living facility
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A teen is facing murder charges after a robbery at a senior living facility.
The robbery and subsequent fatal shooting happened Friday, March 8 in Raleigh.
Officials say it happened around 2:15 a.m. on Battle Creek Drive near Covington Pike, close to Wesley Stage Park retirement community.
Police say a nurse was shot during a carjacking while leaving a senior living facility.
She did not survive her injuries.
The victim was later identified as 73-year-old Anna Hayden.
The vehicle was later recovered, and MPD arrested a 17-year-old boy.
The 17-year-old is charged with first-degree murder in perpetuation of a robbery and especially aggravated robbery.
