MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A big day for the Bluff City as our Memphis Grizzlies return for their season opener tonight.

Fans and Grizz officials are getting hyped about the first game Wednesday.

Tip-off will be against the New Orleans Pelicans at 7 p.m.

There will be a chance for people to win swag and tickets later today.

Two opportunities to hang out with the Grizz Claw Crew will be Wednesday from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. at Harbor Town Roundabout and again from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Poplar on Highland.

The Grizzlies will be returning with new faces including Derrick Rose and Marcus Smart, both playing point guard for the team.

They will also be starting the season without some familiar faces, including Ja Morrant, Steven Adams who’s out for the entire season due to an injury, Brandon Clarke, and Santi (like Asanti) Aldama.

Tickets remain on sale on the Grizzlies website... with the cheapest tickets starting at $20.

“So far so good in terms of the first 25 games. We haven’t seen any drop off in the games coming up, but we anticipate December 21st which I think is the first game JA will be back,” said Dennis O’Connor Grizzlies V.P. of ticket sales. “I’m sure that will be like another many opening nights in terms of the excitement of us getting out a full team.”

You can also expect watch parties across the Bluff City if you decide to watch the game outside of the Forum.
