1 dead after crash on I-55 in Hernando, police say

HERNANDO, Miss. (WMC) - Hernando Police Department confirms that one person is dead after a crash on Interstate 55.

On October 11, the Hernando Police Department was informed about a blue Dodge Ram with Wisconsin plates refusing to stop for authorities out of Crittendon County Arkansas southbound on Interstate 55 approaching Church Road.

A few moments later, as officers responded to the area of Interstate 55 and in the Hernando area, they were told that the Dodge Ram had crossed over the median, hitting a commercial vehicle.

Hernando police confirmed that one person was pronounced deceased on the scene and one individual was transported to a hospital in Memphis for their injuries.
