MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A fire truck and motorcycle crashed near Waldrup Street.

At 6:28 pm, officers were on the scene of an incident on East Holmes Road where a firetruck and a motorcycle had crashed.

The neighbors said they saw the whole thing happen while outside on their porch.

They said a fire truck was leaving the station when a motorcycle, heading east on Holmes Road couldn’t stop fast enough and hit the fire truck.

Memphis Fire told us the fire engine was responding to a first responder call when the collision occurred.

The man on the bike was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Neighbors said the motorcycle was going “too fast,” and that has been a big problem on their street. They also said there have been a few cars that ended up in front of their yard because of reckless driving.

Their message to drivers is “slow down.”
