Person ran across field with gun during high school football game, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A person ran across a football field armed with a gun on Friday, Memphis police say.

The incident happened during a football game at Crump Stadium.

Security was given a tip from a parent that someone had a gun, and Memphis Police Department was called to the stadium.

Officers say the suspect ran across the field during the game before being grabbed by school security.

Officers found a Glock 19 and 18 live rounds tucked into the suspect’s pocket.

The suspect is under 18 and has not been identified.

They were taken to juvenile court and charged with a misdemeanor weapon law violation.
