One hit, killed by train near Poplar avenue

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis Police responded to a crash on Poplar Avenue Thursday afternoon.

Officers say one person was hit by a train and pronounced dead on the scene.

At 11:13 am, officers responded to a crash in the 4700 block of Poplar. One person was struck by a train and pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
