One shot on Vernon Avenue

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis Police responded to a shooting on Vernon Avenue Saturday afternoon.

Police say one person was found shot and pronounced dead on the scene.

Officers detained one woman on the scene.

This is an ongoing investigation.

At 1:33pm, officers responded to a shooting at 3441 Vernon where they located a male shot. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene. Officers have one female detained. This is an ongoing homicide investigation.
