MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis Police responded to two shootings in Memphis Saturday afternoon.

The first was on Germantown Parkway at Incredible Pizza.

Police say two families were arguing with each other before gun shots were fired. Two of the adults involved in the argument were shot and taken to the hospital, one in critical condition and one in non-critical condition.

One person has been detained in this ongoing investigation.

Incredible Pizza founder and owner Rick Barsness released this statement:

“On Saturday, July 24th, there was an incident at our Incredible Pizza in Cordova, Tennessee. We wish a full and speedy recovery for those who were injured this afternoon. We express our gratitude not only to our management, staff, and security detail for their immediate implementation of our emergency response plan, but also to the Memphis Police and Fire Departments for their promptness in being on the scene. As the health and safety of our employees is the foundation of our business, I have decided to close the Cordova location on Sunday and Monday out of respect for our workers. The employees will be paid for their scheduled shifts for both days. I also will be meeting with management and staff on Monday to express my personal appreciation not only for the professional and courageous way they responded to today’s events, but also the work ethic they display every day at Incredible Pizza.”

The second shooting was near Graceland Drive and officers say two people were shot and both taken to the hospital. One was a man who is in critical condition and the other is a juvenile that is not in non-critical condition.

Police say no arrests have been made at this time

This is an ongoing investigation.
