Remembrance ceremony, candlelight vigil held to commemorate Tulsa Race Massacre

TULSA, Okla. (WMC) - A remembrance ceremony and candlelight vigil took place in Tulsa, Oklahoma Monday to commemorate the Tulsa Race Massacre.

It marks the 100th year since a prosperous Black neighborhood of Greenwood was destroyed by white attackers, according to the Associated Press.

Survivors of the massacre were in attendance and honored for their role in U.S. history.

Organizers also took the time to recognize Memorial Day and honor those who lost their lives fighting for the U.S.
