BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. (WMC) - This time next year, Brownsville hopes to re-open Haywood County’s only hospital and add 134 new jobs.

Haywood County’s hospital closed in 2014, forcing people to drive to hospitals in Memphis or Jackson for hospitalization.

Brownsville Mayor Bill Rawls says Braden Health Group out of Florida will invest $5 million, re-opening the Brownsville hospital with 49 beds next October.

The reopened hospital will have an emergency room.
