Tennessee reports 615 cases of coronavirus, including 2 deaths; Shelby County now has 93 confirmed cases

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - There are now 615 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Tennessee, including two deaths.

According to the Tennessee Department of Health, 93 of those cases are in Shelby County.

Shelby County has the second most cases in the state, trailing Davidson County, which is well on its way to 200, according to the Tennessee Department of Health.

The Shelby County Health Department reports 103 people who are being monitored for symptoms.

In neighboring counties, there are six cases in Tipton County, two in Fayette County, two in Dyer County, 23 in DeSoto County, Mississippi and up to four in Crittenden County, Arkansas.

According to the Tennessee Department of Health, there are more confirmed cases in the 21 to 30 age range than any others.

Shelby County Health Department director Alisa Haushalter said Monday the county isn’t in the position to release age ranges of local cases but hopes to in the coming days.

So far, there have been no deaths in Shelby County related to coronavirus.
