Police: Man charged after victim shot in the chest in Binghampton

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - New details have been released after a man was shot in Binghampton.

The incident happened Tuesday on Mimosa Avenue.

Cedric McGory has been charged with second-degree murder. Police said McGory has been in previous fights with the victim Lionel Davis and even threatened to kill him.

Investigators said McGory was bringing furniture to his daughter’s apartment on Mimosa Avenue when he got into another fight with Davis. The fight escalated and Davis was shot in the chest.

McGory has been given a bond of $100,000. He’s expected in court at 9:00 Thursday.
