Memphis Goodwill employee charged with assaulting woman
MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A Mid-South Goodwill employee is charged with sexual battery, accused of touching a woman who was there to drop off a donation.
The woman told police she was fondled by employee Robert Whitten at the Goodwill on Poplar and Kirby Parkway.
According to a police affidavit, the woman was getting the clothes for donation out of her trunk when the victim said Whitten walked up to her from behind and put his groin on her buttocks.
The woman said Whitten did it two more times.
Police looked at video surveillance from the store and saw what the woman described.
However, Whitten refuted what the woman said, telling police it was his hip that touched her.
Whitten is charged with two counts of sexual battery.
WMC5 called a spokesperson for Goodwill but so far we have not heard back.
