MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A Shelby County sheriff’s deputy was arrested after an undercover officer agreed to sell him drugs.
The undercover officer got in touch with Jeffery Crossley, a deputy, about the sale.
Police said Crossley agreed to buy Oxycodone pills. In a recorded conversation, he said he’d buy more but was expecting a large shipment of Subutex pills.
Crossley and the undercover officer agreed to meet at Cracker Barrel and made the exchange for $130 worth of pills.
When Crossley got outside, detectives swooped in and made the arrest.
Detectives found more Oxycodone pills inside his vehicle. They also found two loaded handguns and all of his equipment belong to Shelby County Sheriff's Department.
Crossley was arrested and charged with possession of a substance with intent to sell.
